Zaha Hadid was a Baghdad-born British architect and a Dame of the British Empire. She was the first woman to win the prestigious Pritzker Prize, which she received in 2004 on the strength of projects like the Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati. She died in March 2016 and was succeeded at Zaha Hadid Architects by Patrik Schumacher.
