For treating virtual reality as an art form
Paul Raphaël is a Montreal-based filmmaker who, along with Félix Lajeunesse, cofounded Felix & Paul Studios, a complete creative, production, and technology studio, in 2013. The studio focuses on live-action filmmaking through virtual reality. Lajeunesse and Raphaël have directed some of the young medium’s most acclaimed projects, including the LeBron James documentary, Striving for Greatness, and Jurassic World: Apatosaurus, a tie-in to 2015's blockbuster movie (both are available for Oculus Rift and Samsung’s VR headset). The duo, who created their own 3-D stereoscopic 360-degree camera and audio-recording technology, signed a deal with the Facebook-owned Oculus in 2015 to make high-end cinematic films.
