Doppler Labs CEO Noah Kraft cares a lot about the way people listen to the world around them. A former movie producer who has worked with stars like Martin Scorsese and Miles Teller, Kraft came up with the idea for a smart earware startup while working on a friend’s electronic music tour, where he became especially attuned to the varying acoustics of different venues. In 2013, he teamed up with former Microsoft exec Fritz Lanman to create Doppler Labs, which is releasing its much-anticipated Here One smart earbuds in early 2017. The Here Ones give wearers the power to control the volume of sounds around them, so you can pick up a quiet voice in a crowded room. It can filter out baby cries or oncoming sirens even as you listen to your favorite tunes. Kraft’s ultimate ambition is to put a computer in every ear.
