Neil Dipaola is the founder of the hybrid campsite-hotel company Autocamp. He launched Autocamp six years ago with the vision of creating a hotel composed entirely of chic, aluminum Airstream travel trailers. Autocamp uses the comfort of the trailers to create an easy, stylish way for novice and experienced campers to experience the great outdoors. Dipaulo opened a more rustic version of Autocamp in Northern California’s Sonoma County in 2017 as well as a sprawling 103-suite Autocamp just outside Yosemite National Park that includes 80 Airstreams, 15 luxury tents, and a handful of prefab cabins this year. The trailers make for an efficient hotel, with modular rooms that are easy to set up and move. After raising $115 million in January, he is aggressively buying land near other iconic outdoor locations within driving distance of major cities and expects to open at least three new Autocamps in the next year.
