The Most Creative People in business

Lorraine Twohill is an Irish marketing executive and head of marketing at Google, where she has worked since 2003. She was the company's first non-U.S. marketing hire, and, prior to her move to running brand efforts at the flagship in 2009, Twohill ran marketing operations at the company's Europe, Middle East, and Africa outposts. In a move signaling Google's newfound emphasis on advertising, Twohill was promoted in 2014 to senior VP of global marketing. Under her leadership, Google rolled out its first smartphone and its first TV ad, the famed "Parisian Love" Super Bowl XLIV spot, which promoted Google's search capabilities in the form of an uber-sweet YouTube video. Those efforts eventually grew into the company's in-house advertising agency Creative Lab, which works to promote Google products. Now, as the company splits off its Internet operations under its parent company Alphabet, Twohill uses her winning formula to keep the future of Google's brand focused: knowing the user, knowing the magic, and knowing how to connect the two.
