Liza Koshy is a YouTube vlogger who’s been described as a millennial version of Lucille Ball. Koshy’s two YouTube channels, which feature videos of the 21-year-old rapid-fire monologuing through a dollar store, and impersonating a mustachioed, sweat-suit-wearing foreigner named Jet Packinski, have over 19 million subscribers. Her videos have been viewed over 1.6 billion times.
The Houston native has parlayed this popularity into a gig as a correspondent for MTV’s TRL reboot and an upcoming series for YouTube Red, as well as advertising deals with Calvin Klein and Nike.
Koshy’s brand of zany-yet-inoffensive humor makes her a safe haven for brands looking to connect with Gen Z yet not be burned by the kind of sensationalist YouTube videos that have recently drawn headlines. An ad that Koshy did for Beats headphones has received four times the click rate of those starring other celebrities, such as Tom Brady.
