The rebranding and revitalization of Univision as the "Hispanic heartbeat of America" is largely the work of two women: Univision's executive vice president of corporate marketing Ruth Gaviria, and Linda Ong, president at Brooklyn-based branding firm TruthCo. Ong says her first mission was to push the network to envision themselves outside of their traditional competitive set of Spanish-language networks, and recognize that they truly deserved to compete on par with the English-language media companies.

In the fall of 2016, Ong announced she'd joined Ryan Seacrest's Civic Entertainment Group as Chief Culture Officer.
