For helping musicians think visually

As head of digital for Beyoncé’s company, Parkwood Entertainment, from 2013 to 2015, Lauren Wirtzer-Seawood helped steer the superstar’s internet presence, including her 98 million–follower Instagram account. That experience proved crucial as Wirtzer-Seawood moved into her current role as Instagram’s liaison to the music world. With the platform growing more and more vital to musicians, she is helping them make the most of In­sta­gram’s potential, whether it’s Rihanna live-streaming from Paris Fashion Week, Zayn Malik using Instagram Stories to tease new projects, or Beck collaborating with visual artists to create an exclusive music video. “We don’t pick and choose based on the number of followers an artist has,” she says. “We try to service those who are most eager to use Instagram as a platform to connect with their fans.”
