Kristine Belson is president of Sony Pictures Animation, where she oversees the studio’s slate of animated films, including 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2019 and has grossed $375 million at the global box office. Before joining Sony, Belson oversaw development at DreamWorks Animation, where she produced The Croods and was an executive producer on How to Train Your Dragon. Belson also worked as executive vice president for production at the Jim Henson Company, where she executive-produced Muppets From Space and produced Good Boy! She began her career in live-action filmmaking, working as an executive at Sony, 20th Century Fox and Turner Pictures. At SPA, Belson has made diversity a priority, and is overseeing an eclectic slate of films that represent different voices, including Vivo, a Latin-themed musical with songs by Lin Manuel Miranda, and Wish Dragon, which has an all-Asian cast.
