R&B singer-songwriter-pianist John Legend became an internationally known artist in 2004 after signing with Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D. Music and releasing his first studio album, Get Lifted. His single “Ordinary People” earned him three Grammy Awards for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance, Best R&B Album, and Best New Artist. In 2006, his second album, Once Again, went platinum.
In 2014, Legend released his hit single “All of Me,” a song dedicated to his now wife, model Chrissy Teigen. That same year, he collaborated with Common on the single “Glory” for the film Selma, which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Legend serves on several boards, including the Equality Project, Stand for Children, Teach For America, the Harlem Village Academies, and PopTech. He is also the national spokesman for Management Leadership for Tomorrow and has partnered up with Samsung to support S.T.E.M. education programs. In 2007, Legend launched his own education-based organization, the Show Me Campaign.
