Joey Gonzalez is the CEO of Barry’s Bootcamp, a global boutique fitness brand that offers individual, high-intensity workout classes and a line of activewear products. Gonzalez, who was once an instructor at Barry’s in 2004, helped expand the 40,000-member company by setting up studios in international cities like Milan, Stockholm, and Toronto. An openly gay father of two, Gonzalez has played a major role in developing the brand’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by making sure each Barry’s outpost is unique to the community that surrounds it. The 20-year-old company, which hosts celebrity clients such as Ellie Goulding, David Beckham, and Mandy Moore, offers women-only classes in Dubai, customized menu items, and work from local artists in each of its studios.
