Jason Reynolds is a New York Times bestselling author known for writing young adult novels such Ghost, All American Boys, As Brave As You, The Boy in the Black Suit, and Long Way Down. The Washington, D.C.-based author, whose books often feature young characters of color, has been honored with a number of awards such as the NAACP Image Award and the Coretta Scott King Book Award, which highlights excellence in African-American literature. Reynolds, who graduated with a degree in English from the University of Maryland, was the spokesperson for the American Bookseller’s Association Indies First in 2017.
When he’s not writing, Reynolds is gathering inspiration for his novels by taking part in about 120 speaking events throughout the year. Reynolds has had the opportunity to talk about his work with The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah and CBS’s Gayle King, and has received praise from celebrities like Queen Latifah.
