With $350 in the bank and no sewing skills, Eileen Fisher still managed to garner attention for the four simple designs she debuted at The Boutique Show in New York in 1984. Since then, her tiny collection has exploded into a fashion empire of more than sixty stores across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Through the years as a designer, she’s never strayed from her mission of creating clothes that embody comfort, simplicity, and elegance.
Fisher is committed to continually fine-tuning the culture of her women's clothing business with leadership programs, a learning lab, and a strict no-email policy on weekends. She's a devoted advocate; one of her campaigns, in partnership with TakePart and Participant Media, is called “In Her Company" and recognizes 30 female entrepreneurs across fashion, food, finance, and technology.
