Ed Catmull


Ed Catmull, Ph.D, is cofounder of Pixar Animation Studios and President of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. Previously, he was Vice President of the computer division of Lucasfilm, where he managed development in the areas of computer graphics, video editing, video games, and digital audio. He has won five Academy Awards, including a Technical Achievement Award, two Scientific and Engineering Awards, and one Academy Award of Merit for his work.

He has a bachelor's degree in computer science and physics and a doctorate in computer science from the University of Utah. He is the author of the bestselling Creativity, Inc., and To Infinity and Beyond!: The Story of Pixar Animation Studios.
