As executive vice president and head of the Global Innovation Center (GIC), David Eun leads innovation efforts in software and services to complement Samsung’s diverse portfolio of consumer electronics and mobile devices. With a focus on startups, GIC has different groups responsible for early-stage investments, acquisitions, partnerships, and accelerators in Silicon Valley and New York. Eun also oversees SmartThings, a leading Internet of Things company that was acquired by GIC in August 2014 and is now the centerpiece of Samsung's global connected-home initiatives. Prior to joining Samsung, Eun served as president of AOL Media and Studios and as global head of content partnerships at Google. Before Google, he worked at Time Warner and NBC Entertainment, where he had a variety of roles developing new digital businesses. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
