Carli Lloyd is an American soccer player and co-captain of the U.S. Soccer Women's National Team. Born in New Jersey, Lloyd graduated from Rutgers University in 2004 and played her international debut in 2005. In the decade-plus since she has twice won Olympic gold and twice been named FIFA Player of the Year, in addition to helping lead the Women's National Team to World Cup victory in 2015. A center midfielder, Lloyd has scored game-winning goals in two Olympic finals, as well as a hat trick in the 2015 World Cup championship game. She has also played professionally since 2008, and currently leads Sky Blue FC.
