Andrew Zimmern is a writer, chef, and creator, host, and executive producer of the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods franchise. A three-time James Beard Award winner, Zimmern has built his reputation around his knowledge and passion for culture and food. In 1992, shortly after recovering from alcoholism, Zimmern returned to his passion for food and landed a job washing dishes in New York’s Café Un Deux Trois. When a line cook didn’t make it to his shift, Zimmern was able to show off his cooking chops and seven weeks later was promoted to executive chef.
In 1997, Zimmern launched a multimedia content production company Food Works, and in 2015, he founded another full-service production company for original television series, digital content, and broadcast specials named Intuitive Content.
Zimmern is author of various books about his culinary adventures and is contributing editor and chef-in-residence at Food & Wine Magazine. His podcast Go Fork Yourself won the Stitcher Award for Best Food/Cooking Podcast in 2012.
