Ame Elliott spent two decades in San Francisco working with clients like Samsung, AT&T, and HP at companies like IDEO and the legendary Palo Alto Research Center. But in 2015, she became design director of a small nonprofit called Simply Secure based in Berlin. The goal? To use her wealth of skills and experience in the tech industry and human-centered design to help companies build products that don’t hurt people when it comes to security, privacy, and transparency. That means hosting workshops and summits, speaking at events, and offering coaching on what it means to build products that prioritize the people who use them and their data. As major hacks and security breaches become more common, Simply Secure is stepping into the fold to help designers, developers, and technologists build better privacy and security practices.
