Alexa Fogel is a New York City-based producer and casting director who is best known for her work on the recent FX shows Pose and Atlanta. Fogel got her start working in off-Broadway theater for an art director, then stepped up to cobble together a play when the casting director left in the middle of the season. She soon went from casting plays for multiple regional theaters to casting for TV shows such as NYPD Blue and Murder One. Through her company Beech Hill Films, she has helped bring to life indelible characters on shows like Oz, casting Idris Elba as Stringer Bell; Atlanta, in which she cast Brian Tyree Henry as Paper Boi; and Pose, in which she cast the largest ensemble of trans actors ever on television. Her next project, an adaption of Philip Roth's The Plot Against America, starts shooting in 2019.
