Steve Huffman is the CEO of Reddit--the bulletin-board-like Internet community he cofounded with his college roommate Alexis Ohanian in 2005. Huffman also cofounded the consumer-focused flight search site Hipmunk in 2010. He was Reddit's first CEO before stepping away to pursue other interests. In 2015, Huffman stepped back into the site's CEO role after some managerial misfires by his predecessor, interim CEO Ellen Pao. Huffman, who says Reddit has already surpassed the hopes he had for the site at its founding in 2005, has a vision for the next phase of growth for the platform and its tight-knit web community. He plans to improve Reddit's ad products and potentially monetize the gold mine of sentiment data within its thousands of subreddits. But his first move? Building a stellar rapport with the site's vast network of community members to find out what they really want from Reddit.
