Thor Trucks makes electric-powered semi-trucks, with a goal of electrifying the freight industry. Its ET-One model launched in 2017. In 2018, the company went smaller, announcing a partnership with UPS to build and test two fully electric medium-duty delivery trucks. The trucks will be deployed delivering packages in the Los Angeles metro area for six months. As package delivery needs increase, Thor hopes its smaller trucks can help companies mitigate the costs that come with urban delivery--fluctuating fuel prices, maintenance, and compliance with the EPA and local communities--and help drivers avoid the noise and unhealthy fumes of driving diesel vehicles.
