Satellogic

Argentinian startup Satellogic has created a constellation of small, inexpensive nano-satellites that, when deployed, will orbit Earth and transmit real-time data and images back home. Where traditional satellites take years to make and have an average launch mass of 1,268 kg, Satellogic's take months to build and weigh in at just 35 kg. The data Satellogic collects could be used in areas such as agriculture, energy, disaster relief and response, and business intelligence, just to name a few. It could also play a role in the development of mapping technologies. Satellogic will launch the first commercial satellite constellation in April 2016 with 16 of its satellites on China's Long March CZ-4B.
