Pure Fitness came roaring into the cycling scene in 2015 with two brand new, 270-degree immersive workout studios that transport standard spin classes into surreal, virtual adventures. The facilities, located in Hong Kong and Singapore, feature videos that take riders through futuristic cities and mountainscapes while instructors shout out directions. The idea is to attract a younger audience and help motivate them during the workout--and add some fun to the often grueling experience. Pure, which developed the program in partnership with New Zealand fitness company Les Mills, has introduced similarly interactive experiences to several of its other classes, including martial arts, dance, and yoga. While just two Pure Fitness studios currently offer the 270-degree immersive studio, the workout experience has received positive reviews and could signify the future of gyms across the globe.
