The Los Angeles Dodgers are the Major League Baseball team in the second-largest city in the United States, but it's much more than that. The Dodgers built a Global Sports Venture Studio with the digital-centric agency RGA, after running an accelerator with the firm. The Studio will connect partners from the worlds of entertainment, sports, and tech, such as Adidas, Fox Sports, Levy, and Octagon, with startups that align with their strategic goals.
In addition, the team built its own youth sports training platform, called EL1, which underpins the new Los Angeles Dodgers Training Academies, to create positive baseball and softball experiences for members of its community. The first DTA launched in Redondo Beach, California, in what was formerly Nomar Garciaparra's GBG Training Academy. For the 2018 season, the Dodgers changed its ticketing strategy, working with a company named Eventellect to use its technology to distribute tickets across digital ticket marketplaces so fans have a more equitable opportunity to find tickets for the biggest attractions in Major League Baseball.
