Live Nation has become one of the leading live entertainment companies, thanks to its 2010 merger with ticketing service Ticketmaster and its portfolio of more than 90 music festivals worldwide, including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Electric Daisy Carnival. Live Nation, whose subsidiaries also include rapper Jay Z’s Roc Nation, has expanded to more than 40 countries. In 2017, the company introduced its Festival Passport, a $799 pass that grants general admission to any of the company’s festivals across the world. The company later revamped its fan-centric mobile app to grow ticket sales by 72% year-over-year, and released Ticketmaster Presence, a next-gen “tap-and-go” platform that utilizes sound, NFC, and RFID for seamless venue entry and attendance analytics. As of the end of 2018, Presence is live in more than 200 venues across North America.
