It's not the only ingredient box home delivery company in the field, but Gousto is certainly taking on the market like it aims to be the biggest. The London-based recipe kit service goes beyond competitors like SimplyCook that require users to make a run to the market before they can complete a meal. When Gousto subscribers pick their favorite recipes each week--from Caponata to bacon-wrapped chicke--they receive a box that includes instructions and all the premeasured ingredients they need to get cooking, including fresh seasonal produce and ethically-sourced meat. The upshot: Subscribers get to add a new dish to their repertoire, with little food waste and balanced nutrition. The brand saw 500% growth in 2015, with users flocking to the site and app to cut out the supermarket middleman and put food on their tables faster. Gousto has already raised $25 million, including $13.6 million in December 2015. It is eying expansion in 2016.
