Younger generations are increasingly looking to spend money on experiences, rather than things--and it goes without saying that they're more tech savvy than ever before. Everfest is seeking to capitalize on these trends by using technology to bring people together in real life and provide them with meaningful experiences. The company's app, launched in April of 2015, indexes thousands of festivals around the world and provides an easy way for users to search them based on location, date, or type. Its massive database of events ranges from well-known ones, like Burning Man or Coachella, to smaller food festivals and book fairs. Everfest's app can also show users the nearest event based on their current location, and includes features like a friend finder to locate your companions in the crowd. With a multitude of options for revenue--like helping connect brands with festivals to market their products at, selling user data to travel companies, and targeted advertising--the company has set itself an ambitious roadmap and hopes to eventually become both an international calendar and a social media hub for festival-lovers.
