Israel-based Airobotics makes fully autonomous drones that don’t need any human guidance, making them prime tools for industrial use. Among its first clients were Intel in Israel and Israel Chemicals. The drones can fly, complete trips, and land by themselves thanks to Airobotics’ landing system, which has slots for the drone’s brackets that lock into a launch pad. So far, Airobotics’ drones are primarily used for aerial data aggregation, as well as mapping and surveillance. The company is now focusing on expansion to the U.S. and Australia, where it recently earned its first client, mining company South32. It also envisions future applications beyond the industrial sphere, into such areas as defense and homeland security.
