Here at Google’s I/O developer conference in Mountain View, one of the first pieces of product news involved the Google Photos app. CEO Sundar Pichai announced several new AI-infused features:

  • It will be able to recolor black-and-white photos, making them look a bit like hand-tinted prints.
  • It will recognize your friends in photos and suggest sharing those images with them.
  • If you snap a photo of a document, it’ll automatically turn it into a PDF.
