Google is going underwater to deliver cloud services in 2019

The internet giant is planning on building three underwater cables in 2019 in order to expand its cloud business to new regions, reports CNBC. All three underwater cables will have different routes:

  • Los Angeles to Chile
  • U.S. to Denmark and Ireland
  • Hong Kong to Guam

The cables will help Google increase its presence in the hot cloud services market, in which Amazon and Microsoft are its two main rivals.
