Signal is widely considered to be one of the most secure messaging apps in the world—frequently being endorsed by security and privacy advocates, including Edward Snowden. Though in the past House Republicans have raised concerns that using encrypted apps could “run afoul” of the government’s record-keeping rules, the Senate sergeant at arms approved Signal use for Senate staff back in March, reports ZDNet.
