Security researchers have discovered a WhatsApp backdoor that allows the reading of encrypted messages

The discovery is a major blow to the Facebook-owned messaging app’s image and raises fears from its billion-plus users around the world, with privacy campaigners calling the vulnerability a “huge threat to freedom of speech” and warning the backdoor can be used by government agencies to snoop on any message sent using the service, reports the Guardian.
