Doctors spend 27 hours in surgery to separate conjoined twins

Conjoined twins Anias and Jordan McDonald are in recovery from a rare surgery, which took 27 hours to complete. CNN reports that it took 16 hours to separate the boys, who were joined at the head, and additional time to restructure their skulls. This was only the 59th craniopagus separation surgery in the world since 1952.

Both twins are out of surgery and in intensive care. The next 72 hours are critical to their survival. CF
