Facebook has reportedly paid celebrities and publishers $50 million to use Facebook Live

A document obtained by the WSJ reveals why you keep getting spammed by Facebook Live notifications: Facebook has spent over $50 million on almost 140 contracts with public figures like Kevin Hart, cultural institutions like the Met, and media companies ranging from the New York Times to BuzzFeed.
