Report: Amazon is launching a music streaming service

In news that won’t surprise anyone familiar with Amazon, the company is getting ready to launch a standalone music stream subscription service at $9.99 a month, sources tell Reuters. The move will put it in direct competition with Apple Music and Spotify, which have more than 30 million songs.

Amazon is busy “finalizing licenses with labels for the service” which is likely to launch in late summer or early fall, notes Reuters.MB
