Obama approves direct flights from U.S. to Cuba

The Obama Administration has approved applications from six U.S. carriers to launch direct flights to Cuba.

Applications have been approved for Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Frontier Airlines, Silver Airways, and Sun County Airlines. The first flights are expected to take off as early as this fall.

Once launched, the flights will be the first time direct air transportation has been available between the United States and Cuba in over 50 years.EP
