That’s despite the fact that it’s getting harder to draw new users. Mary Meeker’s 2016 Internet Trends Report reveals that, with the exception of India, the number of global Internet users is growing at the same rate it was last year, 9%.
But in India, the growth rate was 40%—a significant jump from the year prior that puts the country over the U.S. in terms of total Internet users. With 277 million Internet users, India is now second only to China.
