Since July, the company has offered short-term leases to drivers through a subsidiary called Xchange Leasing. But to live up to its promise of putting more than 100,000 drivers on the road, through such financing and discount programs, “that requires dipping into the vast pool of people with bad or no credit,” reports Bloomberg. Which means that Uber is getting even deeper into the subprime auto leasing business.
