Did a Best Buy Geek Squad employee illegally search customer PCs for the FBI?

That’s what the lawyer for a defendant in a child pornography case is alleging, reports Engadget. The defense is arguing that the FBI illegally paid a Geek Squad technician to keep an eye out for child porn on customer computers brought in for repair, which bypassed the defendant’s constitutional rights since no warrant was obtained for the search. The FBI and the Geek Squad employee deny that any orders to conduct searches were given.
