Its blockbuster earnings report is largely due to Prime subscriptions–both in the U.S. and abroad–says CFO Brian Olsavsky. When asked why Prime is doing so well, he attributed it to the many investments the company is making in the service.
One of the big ones, however, is streaming video services. “Customers love the content and we like the results,” said Olsavsky. He added that Amazon plans to focus specifically on original content investment in Q2 and ramp it up.
