Six months ago, UberPool was clocking half as many riders, The Verge reports.
Much of UberPool’s success has stemmed from the company selling it as environmentally-friendly—as evidenced by a new partnership with the New York City Council to support #CarFreeNYC. (Ironic!) But here’s the catch: Uber has more than 30,000 cars roaming the streets of New York. That’s more than the combined number of taxis and Lyft cars operating in the city.
