If you drive for Uber and Lyft in SF, you may need a business license

Per city law, drivers who work more than seven days a year for Uber and Lyft will now have to get the license, which costs $91 a year, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Since both ride-sharing companies refuse to treat their drivers as employees, the city is essentially arguing that, as independent contractors, the drivers—all 37,000 of them—should be licensed. 

Of course, this seems more like a hassle for the drivers in question—not Uber and Lyft. PM
