Lyft’s attempt to settle its class action lawsuit just hit a snag

The company had offered to settle a lawsuit with its California drivers, who claim they are misclassified as independent contractors, for $12.5 million. Today, a federal judge said that the deal “shortchanged” drivers and declined to approve it.
