Google Fined $189,230 By German Data Regulator For Capturing Private Data Over Wi-Fi

The fine was imposed on the search engine after its Street View cars collected Wi-Fi data between 2008 and 2010. “This is one of the biggest data-protection rules violations known,” said the regulator, Johannes Caspar. “Internal control mechanisms must have severely failed.”
