Apple's iPad Screen Manufacturer Pulls Way Back

Sharp Corp has all but halted its production of full-sized iPad screens, possibly due to an increased demand for the iPad mini.

Sharp Corp, a Japan-based Apple iPad screen manufacturer, has pulled back on production of 9.7-inch iPad screens, according to a Reuters report.

Reuters' anonymous sources couldn't speak to why Sharp is now making just the minimum number of screens to keep the production line moving. There are a handful of possible reasons, including a switch to another supplier, a greater demand for the iPad mini, an updated design, or a natural, post-holiday drop in demand.
