I believe the elementary school principal along with the faith-base is the key to the value gap in the community. A gap of value exists, in the creation gap between the schools, the individuals, and the  churches. The gap is also partially filled today by many positive secular efforts. Giving early reading skills to start kindergarten is the first public measure of the gap being created.  Some recieve the gift, other through no fault, do not.  But those without the gift will slow the growth rate and outcome rate defined by later measures. Remarkably, the dollars missing to cover the gap with an annual investment for the 50 states as a whole and Minnesota as a state are 15 billion and 164 million, respectively.  But recognize it is less than .002 of published trailing manufacturing and retail sales.  How small the solution really is!!  But it makes effective citizens wonder why it is not already fixed, given its potential for ROI.

What if 100% of the children started kindergarten ready to read, count and understand positive direction.

A. Put a list together of 20 things to do and take five off each day while putting 5 more on. Do the important ones first. Make sure the list has you communicating.
