I decided to learn how to play the guitar last year. I take lessons. This is probably the most fun thing I've done in years. It's completely outside my existing envelope of knowledge. I think it's actually spurring creativity elsewhere in my work. I was born the son of a Kenyan goat herder and a white mother...wait, that not me it's Barack. Ok, my Dad worked for an NGO and my mom's a school teacher. The NGO my dad helped found was recently named the most efficient NGO (Population Services International or PSI) by some study. We lived overseas for many years, Panama, Columbia, Bangladesh, North Carolina. I went to middle and high school in Briarcliff NY. Go Bears. Then the Army for nearly 5 years, and then Georgia Southern University -- third tier school with first rate teachers. I was lucky (and always have been). Now I have a good job that drives me nuts, a wife, two kids, two dogs, a cat, a fish, a hamster, and toys. Many, many useless toys. I love creating software. Designing it, bringing it to life (like Frankenstein), selling it.
Quit crowding me big boy.
