Bubik aims to improve efficiency and effectiveness in operations and information technologies, so that financial service institutions have to pay less for the back office and can invest more in market development and growth initiatives. Notably, Bubik has helped his clients globalize IT and operations and establish more "industrial" ways of managing the value chain.At Oliver Wyman, Bubik has created a “consumer-oriented” retail banking model, which puts the consumer in the center of the organisation rather than products or distribution channels; in various outsourcing transactions, he helped to achieve 15%-25% cost reduction. For leading public institutions, Roland Bubik conducted strategic simulations on threats to the financial system. Because of his expertise in the economic and management fields, Bubik has been published in leading German financial journals. Writing about various topics within IT and bank management, Bubik has become a leading voice for the industry. Themes for Bubik’s articles include IT for risk management, value-based IT management, complexity management, industrialization of financial services, and the globalization of banking. In addition to his dedication to his profession, Roland Bubik is involved in many community-related efforts. Bubik was a scholar of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, a political education institution, and he helped to found “Potenzial Frankfurt RheinMain –Talent Inside,” an initiative that recognizes companies that employ superior business practices. Before going to college, Bubik started his volunteer work with the Sue Ryder Home, an organization that provides elderly care, and SHAD, a supported housing group for people with disabilities. Bubik supports the Red Cross, and he has supported the Pink Tie Ball organization to fight breast cancer. Roland Bubik graduated with his Master of Arts in History & Political Science and Business Administration from the University of Mannheim. For his dissertation, “History of Marketing Theory,” the Dr. Haas and Dr. Clemm Foundation honored Bubik with a best-of-major award. Bubik loves spending time with his wife and two kids, and in his spare time, he studies religious history and practices yoga.
