Paul Fairlie

CEO, Paul Fairlie Consulting
Paul Fairlie is President and CEO of Paul Fairlie Consulting with a background in organizational, market, and opinion research. He is a trained quantitative, behavioural scientist with a solid foundation in organizational psychology, psychometrics and data analysis. His primary areas of expertise are related to measurement, assessment and research in organizations.

Paul has served clients across a wide range of industries with People Tech Consulting, Right Management Consultants, Environics Research Group, Shepell-fgi, and his own company. He is a former Director of Research at Shepell-fgi, where he oversaw employee health research involving thousands of organizations.

Paul is also an expert on meaningful work. He is the developer of the Meaningful Work Inventory® (MWI), a comprehensive employee survey of the most critical workplace factors known to organizational science. It includes meaningful work factors, which are emerging as some of the strongest drivers of employee behaviour and well-being. The MWI gets to the heart of what ‘really matters’ to employees…as people.

Paul has a Ph.D. in psychology from York University and has published in academic journals. He is currently conducting research on the role of personality in employee well-being and the nature and measurement of meaningful work. He has written articles for HR Magazine, Canadian HR Reporter, Workforce.com and Vue Magazine. Paul is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the International Positive Psychology Association, and the International Network on Personal Meaning. He is a regular presenter at APA conventions and has also presented to the Human Resources Professionals Association and the Conference Board of Canada.
