Milan 2009: Alcohol Meets Design At Veuve Clicquot Lounge
The long-standing link between alcohol and design is fully exhibited at the museum Veuve Clicquot erected in an enclosed bridge crossing a people-packed street in the Zona Tortona. On display, new promotional works by Tom Dixon (ball-shaped light), 5.5 Designers (brick-like champagne shelf) and Front Design (wooden Veuve Clicquot boxes arranged into seating).

Milan 2009: OLED Comet Lamp by Kita
No one will be tempted to eat it, but this breakthrough LED panel is organic--the light emitting diodes are sandwiched between washi paper made from kozo fibers and a Mulberry tree. The body of the Comet by Kita, on display through the end of the fair at Galleria Il Castello in the Brera District, is un-green acrylic. - Janet Eastman

Milan 2009: Cerith Wyn Evans' Neon I=N=V=O=C=A=T=I=O=N
Commissioned for the fair, Welsh lighting artist Cerith Wyn Evans created a neon sculpture, I=N=V=O=C=A=T=I=O=N (I call your image to mind), that evoked ghosts of "numerable and innumberable light events" from fireflies to the scan of mobile telephone. Milan 2009: Richard Ginori 1735 Collaborates with Paola Navone on Taste Lounge Across from Superstudio in Tortona, Taste Lounge, an installation by Italian porcelain manufacturer Richard Ginori 1735 in collaboration with Paola Navone: Trompe l'oeil murals of dishes, a huge wall of vintage plates, and in the back, a cafe designed by Italian food collective Arabeschi di Latte.
